Easter Musings

Its always helpful to see yourself for who you are and own it. I can be very forgetful, nonchallant and I just love my space. Abit of ocd(yes, just a little bit 😉) I find the easy way out all the time, you know because life shouldn't be this hard biko. At the end of the day it gets done doesn't it :) I am comfortable in my skin really, there is always someone better so why hurt yourself. If you want to be better, strive to be better for you. An old friend, once told me some 10years ago that I was 'selfie'. I didn't get it then but now I do. His definition of 'selfie' I am good by myself, I have people but i dont seem to need them. I speak sarcasm as a second language and my stubborn is certified. These I reckon are flaws. You know the thing about flaws? We all have them. Some we try to improve on, some we really can't be bothered to deal with, some we are defiant about because we want to be accepted just the way we are. We humans sometimes remind me of kids playing with plasticine. We deal with people like they are plasticine. You want to mould and design a person to suit your immediate or continous desire. Basing your design on the way you want them to make you feel, forgetting that people are you know.... People. When you detect a slight change from what you intend to make, you crush, destroy and try to remould or you even toss the plasticine and replace with another and start again. Yet thou are but a mere human. I imagine the Creator looking down at us, seeing the defiance, the filth, the aberration and despair. He could have just wiped us out and started over like the days of Noah, I mean how many more animals have to die? It definitely wasn't working was it? Then comes the good part, He reacted out of love, not condemnation, not damnation, not anger, not destruction. He reacted with love so sacrificial its hard to believe. He came down to our level, He became like us, He felt what it was like to be us. He saw through our eyes. He didn't endorse our flaws, he loved us into perfection. He gave us a choice. He took upon himself our transgressions and traded his righteousness for our filth. For no greater love than this, that a man should die for his friends. The story of Easter is a powerful one, It is a story of love inspite of. A promise of eternity, an act of forgiveness so pure it melts the heart of the worst villian. Thank You God for loving us enough. Morenike
